How did you get started in triathlon?
I like to joke that I got an early start in triathlon in high school since the fall season seemed like one long triathlon between volleyball, cross country and the swim teams! Each fall I was out of class for two weeks straight to attend three back-to-back-to-back state championship events.

I graduated with Louisiana All-State Honors in all three sports, three school records on the track and earned “Most Athletic Female” all four years of high school. I also learned the art of losing graciously, as I captained our volleyball team to three state runner-up titles. In the “off-season”, I managed to squeeze in soccer, indoor and outdoor track in addition to my high-performance volleyball team, which meant most of life was practice, competing or en route to one of the two!

In college, I played NCAA Division I Volleyball at the University of Pennsylvania before joining a triathlon club for fun after graduation. However, it wasn’t until after getting hit by a car and breaking my collarbone on a ride in 2013 that I started to get serious and find success at the longer distances.

Highlights include top amateur at Ironman Coeur d'Alene and New Orleans 70.3 and 2nd place female at Norseman, the "hardest triathlon in the world." I also raced Kona twice, cheating death once—and am excited to gain experience and improve among the professional ranks as I move forward in my career!
